We will go over Lenormand basics including card combinations, forming questions, and utilizing spreads. The tools in this workshop can begin a new diviner’s tool kit or add to a seasoned Tarot reader’s repertoire. You’ll leave with the confidence and knowledge to embark on your Lenormand journey.

Regina LaRocca

Friday 3PM – Things To Consider When Using Divination Tools

We will discuss how the wording of our questions for the Tarot can affect the answers we receive. This includes yes and no questions, leading questions, future questions and how to avoid self-fulfilling prophecies. We will discuss how to clear space before a reading. You will receive information for understanding the potential for a reading to be influenced from interfering spirits and how to avoid this. We will touch on the subject of Law of Attraction, based on how frequency affects our lives and how our overall philosophies and values affect the actions we take after we receive our answers.

The class will end with a guided meditation on how to receive direct information about the cards from guidance. We will break into small groups to discuss the information as it came through and have each group share interesting points with the class.

Regina has studied metaphysics since she was 13 (1977) and apply the wisdom of the following topics to her work with the cards: Hermetics, Ethno-botany, NLP, Dreams, The philosophies of Yoga, Flower of Life Teachings and Sacred Geometry, Theology, Numerology, Astrology and Kabbalah as they relate to the Tarot, and the continuous learning available from the Spirit guides and from Earths Indigenous Peoples, past and present. She started learning the Tarot specifically in 1999 and began readings for others in 2002.

Friday 3PM – Jest a Little Astrology for Tarot Folk

Combining Astrology to your Tarot can add new levels of clarity and fun to readings and spreads. It doesn’t have to be difficult: a couple tools and a little practice and they grow and cling together.

In this introduction, we’ll review the connections between Major Arcana, the Zodiac, the four elements and the three modalities. Our focus will be TODAY, examining Major, Minor and Court cards. We will delve into individual birthdays. With this formula, patterns will emerge and any day can be translated from Astrobabble to Tarot.

I began entertaining, enlightening and educating folk with Tarot in 1971, hitchinking about the U.S., reading at renaissance fairs and parties. Tarot became a therapeutic tool I used in chemical dependency programs during my nursing career. For the past 35 years I’ve continued reading Tarot attending conferences and studying with masters in India, So. Cal and the Pacific Northwest. Three years ago I came out of the Tarot closet and began reading professionally at a metaphysical shop and teaching classes in So. Cal.

Arthur has always been an independent thinker and had his own ideas as to what was acceptable to him in the realm of spirituality. He holds multiple certifications in many healing modalities and reads with tools such as the Tarot, Charms, Oracle Cards as well as the Lenormand.

He was first introduced to the tarot in the mid 90’s but his journey truly began in 2009 when he stumbled across it once more. Eloy uses energy healing, the Tarot and the Lenormand Oracle Deck to help guide people while they deal with the stresses of everyday life. Eloy is known for his positive outlook on things, both in his personal and professional lives. Eloy is a Reiki Master and currently holds two certifications in the reading of the Tarot and the Lenormand Cards. He is an advanced Theta Practitioner and a certified Bars practitioner.

Susan Rhodes

Friday 5PM – The Fool’s Excellent Adventure: a Journey Through the Enneagram and Tarot

This talk introduces the main ideas in my book, The Fool’s Excellent

Adventure: A Hero’s Journey through the Enneagram and Tarot (2017).

While I’ve enjoyed working with the tarot and enneagram independently, I’ve found it more productive to work with them together. To that end, I’ve developed a new tarot approach based on insights from my enneagram work. It extends the 22-card major arcana to create a three-level, 27-card major arcana.

While my model is new, the idea of a nine-based tarot is not. It’s solidly grounded in Pythagorean number symbolism. In 1979, Richard Roberts introduced a new “magic nine” arrangement of the tarot in his book Tarot Revelations; in the 1980s, Angeles Arrien and Mary Greer developed nine tarot constellations based on the same principle.

Later, Shirley Gotthold (1995) and Art Rosengarten (2009) created tarot decks with a 27-card major arcana; Dr. Rosengarten is in the process of publishing a comprehensive new book on his 27-card deck.

This session will be informative, fun, and open to all. Please come!

Susan Rhodes is a well-known writer on the enneagram, a system focusing on nine personality types; she has authored three books on the “positive enneagram” approach and is the staff writer for The Enneagram Monthly, the only continuously-published magazine on the enneagram since 1995. She also has a scientific background with a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology and a long-term interest in Jungian psychology.

Susan has also been studying the tarot for two decades and noticed very early on some striking correspondences between the enneagram types and the tarot cards of the major arcana. She recently published her 325-page book, The Fool’s Excellent Adventure (2017), which explores the relationship between the enneagram and tarot using Hajo Banzhaf’ approach to the hero’s journey in the tarot.

Saturday 10:45AM – Uncovering your past lives with Lenormand

“I should not wonder, if Euripides is right when he said:

‘who knows if to live is to be dead, and to be dead is to live?’

And one might wonder if we are all really dead, and the body is our tomb..”

Lenormand and our past lives or what I like to call them our simultaneous incarnations. All pasts and all futures actually occupy the same time simultaneously which is the now.

Using Lenormand we will venture into what lies behind the terrains of dimensions, peering into our soul to uncover a glimpse of our simultaneous incarnations. . Maybe we will heal a pain, an issue, a trauma or shed light on a certain reoccurring situation in your life. Uncovering past or future incarnation leads to shedding of blockages in our current life.

Come and explore with me the mysteries that lies beyond the veil of our reality through the power of Lenormand.

Saturday 10:45AM – Justice at the Heart of the Tarot: Finding the Place Where the World’s Needs and Your Joy Meet

We each have unique gifts to offer for making our world the place we wish it to be. Do you wonder how you might make a difference by offering your gifts in service at this time? As a structure with Justice at its heart, the Tarot can guide us in finding where our “great joy meets the world’s great need”. With Tarot play, Wisdom Readings, and personal reflection, this session will help us identify what is important to pay attention to as we make individual and collective choices on how best to serve Justice in these times.

We’ll explore what work calls to us and identify a best path forward to support the things we care about. Any deck can be used during the session, but if you have more than one to choose from, bring the deck with the image of Justice that most inspires you and/or has Knight cards that you particularly like.

Saturday 1:45PM  – Panel: Defining Yourself As A Reader

Topic presenters:

Moderator: Rose Red

Courtney Weber

Toni Gilbert

Angelo Nasios

Art Rosengarten

Reading the Tarot is a highly intuitive art. As readers, we need to think about how we want to present ourselves, and our craft. We need to look at our strengths, and how we wish to use them to present the work of the Tarot to others. As readers, we can choose to focus our practice in many different directions: divination, personal growth, healing, nurturing and growing a business, using the Tarot as a backdrop for writing, using the Tarot in decision making, and using the Tarot to understand ourselves and our relationships through the auspices of Birth Cards. The list is endless!

How we define ourselves, and how this is projected into our reading practice, will change over time, as we learn more about ourselves and the cards, and as the political and social environment we are reading in changes.

The goal of this panel discussion to to share ideas, to move beyond the confines of divination, and to open ourselves to all that the tool of Tarot offers.

Benebell Wen

Saturday 3:30PM – Tarot, Occultism, and Modern Witchcraft

Witchcraft and belief in magic and the supernatural are obsolescent modalities…or are they? What is modern witchcraft and what role does the tarot play in the practice of modern witchcraft? How does tarot in the 21st century account for both psychology-based sensibilities and a traditional practice of the occult arts?

This lecture and roundtable discussion will address tarot reading specifically through the framework of occultism and modern witchcraft.

All are welcome, but the roundtable discussion will ask attendees to contribute their perspectives and practices at the intersection of tarot and witchcraft. The scope of the class is limited to tarot as an occult technology used in modern witchcraft and occult arts, and does not address other more generalized or contemporary uses of tarot.

Benebell Wen is the author of Holistic Tarot: An Integrative Approach to Using Tarot for Personal Growth and The Tao of Craft: Fu Talismans and Casting Sigils in the Eastern Esoteric Tradition. Sunday 9AM – The Magical Scent of the Tarot: Creating Magic with Aromatherapy and the Tarot

Each of the seventy-eight cards within the tarot contain a message, an energy, a vision for us to decipher and work with. Each energy carries with it an elemental force that is the voice of that message. The question is how does one wish to work with this energy, this message?

Working with plant energies through the use of essential oils can bring about shifts to create the magical force that leads you on your chosen path. Learn how to call in the energies of magic through the combination of scent and tarot. Be sure to bring your cards and your sniffer.

Ailynn has been working with the energies of the tarot for over 40 years. She is currently a tarot reader and teacher in Portland, Oregon as well as a published author on the subject of the tarot. Using your favorite deck in tandem with Mellissae’s new Dada Divination—Wildstyle Wordplay cards we will welcome the power of novelty, humor, and serendipity to open exciting new pathways in our reading abilities. Come prepared to have fun and to never see divination the same way again.

Along the way, Julia was educated at several notable art institutions: The Ruskin School of Art, Oxford University; St. Martins School of Art in Soho, London; and studied portrait painting at the Leighton Studio in San Francisco, and other schools. Eventually, she developed her own visionary style based on hard edged detail, stylized images, and bizarre, unusual compositions.

Sunday 1:45PM – Creating Ritual Through Tarot for Magical, Personal, and Practical Purposes

Sometimes we need a bit more guidance than a single tarot reading can offer. Sometimes we need a symbolic act – a spell, a ritual, an intention – to help invite something in, or to begin letting something go. Sometimes we want the cards to help us with a practical dilemma, like choosing a business idea or a new path in life. This lecture will show you how to look deeper into the symbols and energies of the cards to build rituals for spiritual, personal, and practical purposes that you can use on your own, or assign to clients.

Learn techniques that will help you use tarot to set intentions into motion. We’ll look at taking inspiration from the cards to create rituals to invite opportunity into your life, and to initiate healing and self-care through the act of letting go. You will also learn how to create a simple, practical take-away activity for anyone that might not need to tap into the “woo” factor just yet, but who is looking for concrete steps from the cards all the same. These techniques will strengthen your creative and intuitive connections to tarot by pushing you to see beyond card meanings and tap into the rich symbolism and wisdom tarot has to offer. Once you start to use the cards to build ritual and magic in everyday life, you will begin to see their messages and energies come to life in whole new ways.
