Welcome

NWTS News

Northwest Tarot Symposium

Dear NWTS Community,

We’ve all been missing our NWTS Community over the last many months. Happily, there is good news!

First, we are pleased to announce that we are in the process of turning NWTS over to Michelle and Roger Welch, who will be the new Directors of the event. You may know them as the owners of SoulTopia, past vendors at NWTS, with three stores in Texas, and their very active role online in the metaphysical community.

While we have loved running NWTS since it began in 2015, our path is taking us in some new directions. Jadzia’s career in writing Paranormal Romance novels, producing new titles for Living Magick Publishing, and preparing for a move to the New England area (hopefully in early in 2022) are keeping us very busy. So, we are very glad to have people with vision, energy, and organzational skills comparable to ours, to take the reins. We look forward to still being part of NWTS, just in different ways going forward.

The next In-Person NWTS weekend is planned for October 7-10, 2022 – At the Monarch Hotel and Conference Center, in Oregon.

Given the capricious nature of the Post Covid world, rather than continuing to set dates, only have to cancel and reschedule them, we’ve decided to wait until it is most likely that things will be safe for in-person events, travel, etc., to resume safely and completely.

Later this year, we will begin taking Presenter proposals and Vendor application.

Between now and the next NWTS, we’ll be hosting some special Online Presentations

READING THE MARSEILLE TAROT PIPS – SKILLS FROM EARLIER CENTURIES NWTS - Caitlin Matthews

Since the Waite-Smith deck of 1909, we have become accustomed to reading the minors by their illustrations. However, up until the time of Etteilla, with exclusion of the Sola Busca Tarot, tarots consisted of 22 Trumps, 40 Pip and 16 Court cards: these were the norm from the early 1400s until the 1780s and beyond.  In this session, Caitlín explores two methods of restoring the skill of reading from the Pips to our repertoire.

Thank you for being a part of the NWTS community. We’ll have more information for you soon. In the meanwhile, Stay Safe!
